Legendry fashion designer Zandra Rhodes has unveiled a range of handbags and small leather goods under a licensed agreement with Girari Design. The ultra sexy capsule collection is all about squiggles, patchwork, vivid colors and a logo-embossed safety-pin zipper pull, the collection is a mix of new shapes and vintage prints.
Refering to the use of thick gold chains, voluptuous tassels, oversized crystals, embellished frames and silk-screened prints of some of her vintage motifs, Rhodes said,
You don’t want what just seems like just another bag.
The collection will retail in a range from $165 to $795 and includes totes, clutches, shoulder bags, wallets and makeup bags. The limited edition collection is targeted towards upmarket boutiques and specialty stores, like Barneys New York, which currently sells her collection of printed tops.
At the moment, Zandra is juggling between different careers. She works as a porcelain designer for Royal Doulton; a costume designer for the San Diego Opera and the Houston Grand Opera; and, even lectures at the Woodbury University.
